Racism
My morning TV began with a PBS interview with Mat Johnson on Writing Out Loud about his book, IncogNegro.

This will be an exhausting day for me.
Tomorrow I have to spend in the very close company of doctors.
Today I must shower and shave etc. No big deal but...
I must also shampoo my hair.
I keep it tied up most of the time(see icon) and ignore it. But when I have to get close to someone it needs to not smell like cigarette smoke. It's halfway down my back. It will take forever just to wash ( Read more... ) -

I thought that moving to the middle of Nowhere, Oklahoma would put me so far from civilization that I would be protected from most of civilization's modern threats like nuclear reactors. Silly me!

What's up...
I have an appointment Wednesday to deal with my cataract. Because I have had a bypass and am taking a lot of medication, they need to manipulate my dosages in order to medicate me for the procedure. (I take blood thinners for example.)

The shamrocks and the party hats have hit the TV commercials and the shelves at WalMart.
This morning I looked up this YouTube and cried like a baby because Jo never got to see this one. She would have cried like a baby at it too.

I'm not writing... or reading as much these days. My cataract has reached a formidable proportion so it has become way too much work.
I need the name of an "eye guy" in the McAlester area that somebody has used and been satisfied with. I'm not usually scared of medical procedues but the idea pf somebody cutting in my eye gives me the heebie jeebies ( Read more... ) -
66 years ago today...
Before I was even two years old, my mother entered the hospital on her 24th birthday and gave birth to my only sibling... the only boy in a large extended family.
She had been the baby girl in a family of 6 boys who spoiled her rotten. She never had a good reason to outgrow this so she grew older but never (ever) "grew up".
