I went to Washington, D.C. this weekend and had a really lovely time. I mean, seriously, a wonderful time. I purposefully (and successfully) didn't think about work at all, and became all happy and rested and then bubbled up with hope and delight and plans and ideas. After touring about in the morning and mid afternoon, I'd head back to the room ( Read more... )

It was very nice. I love D.C. Well, so far I've fallen in love with every major city I've ever visited that has decent public transportation. It's barely even an option in my state, which makes getting around really hard as I don't drive. It's really freeing to just be able to go.

Hello! I'm doing well, actually. Last year was pretty awful as I had a couple of medical issues, and I'm in the process of recovering now, but mentally, I feel much stronger. Being sick just really wore me down and I kinda went silent, except for pressing "reblog" on tumblr. How are you?

i know what you mean! i don't drive either (don't even have a license) so i'm pretty reliant on my own two legs, my bicycle, or public transportation.

oh, that sounds shitty. :( glad you're doing better. <3 are you still doing yoga?

i've been doing about as good as you, i think - nothing medical (thank god), but last year was extremely toxic at work what with being bullied by coworkers and the environment generally being really shitty. all the toxic people are gone now though, so i've been feeling really good lately and i've been given proper tasks fitting to my job as well, so things are looking up. :) oh, and i'm also in the process of finishing my studies! next week i'm starting my master's thesis for real. :D

I know how it can be when there's a terrible person at work, so I'm glad that they're gone and you're able to stay and hopefully enjoy your job now. It's really exciting to hear that you're starting your thesis, though! How long will you take to finish it?

No yoga, sadly, not since October 2013. My back got dramatically worse that summer until I finally had to give it up. I'm really sad over it. Last summer was rounds of shots and medicine and physical therapy, which has brought the pain to manageable levels, though being so inactive has made me weak as a kitten. I'm going to try to get back to it this summer. It's my goal to start back on my birthday. We'll see what my doctor thinks about that idea in a couple of weeks :D

:D I think I've gone to D.C. three times in the last 18 months. I really love it there but kinda ready to see something new, I think. Laura and I have plans for the fall, so we shall see.
