..although not as hot as it was at the beginning of the week, thank God, and not as hot as it is for my UK buddies ::hands you all a cold drink and fans you with my big plumey fan::

Well, I am a charter member of the Split Rock and Hart Lushettes, after all ;-) And I had the hangover to prove it, if you'll recall the morning we had our picture taken with JM back in '04 lol....

Yes, we had a lovely time away, spending some much needed "together by ourselves" time. ::sigh:: Back to reality now though.

How are you? Any holidays coming up? We're off to Vermont with friends for a week - right after your birthday, actually!

Actually, I thought that was just a one-off, you letting your hair down on your away-from-being-a-responsible-career woman-wife-and-mother, letting-your-inner-fangirl-out-to-play weekend! Now you tell me you do this all the time? ;-)

Glad to hear you had a good break. I've got sonme holidays coming up soon, which I intend to use to redecorate. The kitchen definitely could do with a fresh lick of paint, and I'll probably see about getting myself a new sofa as well.

Have a fab time with your family and an even better time with Ron :) Hope you manage to fit it all in. When is 'The Big One'? I'm ashamed to say I remember the month, but not the day, and you're coy about it on LJ... Middle of the month?

Hello Cass my love -

Yes, we really enjoyed visiting my parents in the new house. End of an era - they had lived in the old house for close to 42 years, so it was the place in which I grew up - a bit bittersweet, all in all. But very nice to see my folks, and celebrate my dad's 75th birthday (which was July 1st), and my "Big One", which is coming up August 15th - I can't believe it!!

And the time away with Ron was wonderful - we both very much enjoyed it. Visited some of the wineries that I wanted to visit, plus the brewery I wanted to see, and ate at some lovely restaurants, although now I need to get back on the "losing weight" schtick... oy, it's a continuing battle.

Enjoy the laptop, and don't let the kids and work get you down ((hug)) Hi to Himself, too.
