Time travel is impossible

I've always felt that this is the case, sometimes because I feel that time is simply our perception of separating now from then, sometimes because it just causes too many problems ( Read more... )

You're completely ignoring the idea of alternate timelines Luke. Watch your Star Trek :P

Besides, in a Genie type situation, normal rules of nature are already being broken. Could the genie provide, say, a magic television set that would allow you to view past moments? Thus, no actual matter is transferred to the past, nor is the past interacted with. You could put a Google style search engine so if you asked for "Aaron Burr vs Alexander Hamilton", you'd get the moments in history that closest matched to their famous duel, and probably also some porn.

I would say consult your genie in more detail, to see exactly what time travel services he can and cannot provide. Otherwise, pursue telekinesis.
