I've been wanting to try that since seeing The Saddest Music in the World.

I will remember not to experiment at the beach! Hehe.

hehehe...

well the stuff for The Seamstress where i used vaseline i loved more than anything else. this is just going to take practice to get it right. and i think it has a very different effect in still photography. in film there is movement and it becomes hypnotic. in stills i think i'm just going to have to be either more subtle OR more over the top. like shoot a circus with an inch of goo on the lens!

The last one is my favorite but I like how on the fourth one up in the foreground the streaks convey a sense of motion. If I did not know you used vaseline I would be sitting here perplexed over how you were able to make part of the scenery move while the other parts are still. Another thing that stirkes me is how you managed to soak up all the color. that ocean is sooo blue in the first one. Bring your camera and some vaseline on your trip up north, there will be plenty to shoot.

So i have sucked at posting things...that will change. I made a cube out of wire screen which is the first part of a sequence of cubes that will be tied together and perhaps have things placed inside...like golden or beeswax eggs...and an apple (more apples!). I will post pictures when there is something to show.

hooray for posting! i want to see. you should take in-process pictures... ;)

and no worries, i'll probably be bringing more cameras and film with me that anything else.

thanks for commenting! i really like it when the images smears too. i think i'm just going to have to play around with it more and not shoot anymore beaches.

Awww but we have such pretty beaches here. Just find someone to dress up couture, and stick 'em in here and there.

I like the second to last one best. Also, Ihave never seen blue water. Pictures of it always look weird to me; my mind says it should be brown.

i think that is probably my pick as well. i was happy with the light-stars made by the vaseline...

ha! oceans are indeed blue-green. but the seaweed is brown. brown bodies of water just reminds me of the Mississippi.....

i'm going to see my Stephie in only a few hours!! so much fun shall be had...
