All is well on the home front. "THE BOY" is doing well and recovering nicely. Tonight we removed bandages, cleaned up the area around the stitches, and replaced waterproof bandages over it so a shower can happen tomorrow. It's been a long and arduous couple of weeks. We first had to take my son Eric into the pediatrician to determine the cause of hip pain he's been having virtually all summer. He sent us for x-rays. They came back negative for anything fractured. We then were referred to an orthopaedist who sent him for an MRI. That didn't come back negative ( Read more... )

My friend Penny's mom passed away last night. I was talking to her right at the moment it happened. I know her sadness is at such a great level right now, and probably will be for quite a while. Having gone through the loss of a parent already helps me to understand how she's feeling. But knowing her mom is no longer in pain, no longer in ill ( Read more... )

We went to a Chicago Cubs game yesterday at Wrigley Field! It was a ton of fun! They played against the Detroit Tigers and my hubby was just beyond thrilled! It's kind of a dreary day over here in Chi-town. Been raining now for a while and it's chilly and damp outside. Brrr!! I just about finished my landscape bricking in the front yard this week while the weather was actually nice, and that made me really feel like I accomplished something.
