A new Percy story

This is a little missing moment from Chamber of Secrets with Arthur and Percy from Arthur's perspective. I was inspired by the way Mandrakes are used in other works of literature and their historical mythological connotations. This is awesome and so funny! (bits of it, anyway...) I loved how uncomfortable Arthur was, and also dumbledore's thoughts on butterflies. "A bit over-eager if you ask me." Perfect for Percy.

This is a lovely little story, and makes Percey a little more human. I've always felt that JKR made it too easy for us to just dismiss him as a prat. Nicely done. I did find one possible mistake: unless you're deliberately using the obsolete "state, condition" definition (def. 4 in the OED), I don't think "stature" is the word you want when describing Penelope in the hospital; "posture" might be a better choice.

(In case you're wondering why someone is commenting on this so long after you posted it: I'm new to HP fan fiction, having only started reading it after I finished Deathly Hallows and realized I wasn't ready to leave that universe behind yet; I found this story via a link from stmargarets.)
