A Super Day

Hey everyone! Had a great day on Sunday. We went to the city and had Indian food, which is my favorite and something that I can't get now that we are in the boonies. Then we browsed a bookstore, something else I can't do in the boonies, and went to see a really good movie. If you love the Beatles, you'll enjoy Across the Universe. It's a ( Read more... )

I'm glad you got to the movie and it was something upbeat and fun. I know what you mean about the boonies - we're going to Halifax the weekend of the 18th and I'm really looking forward to it! I'm still working on Percy!

The hardest part is being away from a bookstore, I think. Fortunately, I've got it better than you and can get to a Barnes & Noble in 30 minutes. I thought of you while I was book browsing too. I flipped through The Memory Keeper's Daughter and that book on the seven stages of the novel - I can't remember it exactly. Both looked really good.

The movie *was* upbeat and fun - even with John feeling sort of rough we had a great time. It was fun to do something that felt very *us*.

Hi Julu! I'm glad things are going well for you, and I'm doubly glad that you're writing on LJ. How is teaching coming? I'm thinking of doing a small fiction writing camp as part of the library's summer program, but I have to admit to feeling somewhat daunted. It's been so long since I taught writing.

*Hugs!* Have a Great day!

Hugs back! I'd be lying if I didn't say that it was overwhelming at times - just a constant struggle to keep my head above water. My issue has been that I'm teaching material that I've never taught so all my old, beloved lesson plans have gone out the window. It's that constant struggle to learn the materal AND try to make it interesting. You know what I'm talking about. I had a good day today, but tonight I can't kick back and relax. I've got to get ready for tomorrow. Add family responsibilities into the mix and - um...yeah - it's a lot to keep up with.

Oh I bet you would love doing a small summer camp! You know, the folks who signed up to do that would *want* to do it and would be really serious. I bet it would be just the right amount of time to feel inspired but not burned out. Go for it!
