Last night, I had to run to the store. The kids were all in bed, so I went all by myself. It was heaven. I wasn't holding anyone's hand. Not once did I have to say, "Knock it off!" I could hear myself think. And think, I did. My thoughts were so loud that I wouldn't have been surprised if I was actually talking to myself out loud.

Rhett got a call from Spirit today (the plane manufacturer.) They are having him come in for a face to face interview on Friday. This is the job that would mean that we'd be close to family, have a lower cost of living, and a big raise in pay. Today is Ella's birthday. She's turning 3. OH. MY. GOD. She's the last of my babies, and I'm feeling incredibly old. I'm too sick to have a really big celebration tonight (although we're having one on Saturday for the whole extended family, so she's not missing much.)  But despite the sick, I'm taking a shower later, pulling on some decent clothes ( Read more... )

The good: Ella is the only child in my house right now. I don't hear any arguing. No blaring tv. No one asking me questions. It's strangely quiet, in fact. I'm so grateful for the quiet. I cannot even tell you.
