Hudson Pic: Lost City of Atlantis

Today while we were doing work on the Orphan Knoll we saw this odd looking structure show up on the depth sounder. It was a very symmetric looking structure in the shape of a 2D Gaussian that was about 200 m high and 1 km in diameter. I the picture below is of the data from the depth sounder. We had a lot of fun over the next while coming up

Is it 1km in diameter or length? ships were pretty big back in the day, though probably not circular.
I'm enjoying reading about your adventures at sea, and the pretty maps. It seems so exciting :)
