I'm so with you! This is the rare time of year when I can revel in sunny days without worrying that I'm going to wilt form the heat, and everywhere the world seems vibrant with rich hues (not to mention all those fabulous harvest foods!)

I'm also gleefully planning for Halloween & wondering how much over the top I can decorate the yard :>

I hope your birthday is everything good you want from it & a little more :>

Sometimes fall makes me sad, but usually once it actually arrives, I'm glad of it. This year I'm starting to realize that despite the problems in my life at the moment, I'm very pleased it's fall. Early fall is so lovely, when the weather cools but it's still sunny a good portion of the time, and the leaves start to change. It also means more to me ever since I found out, shortly before my dad died, that fall was his favorite season. He also died in the fall, so I'm more inclined to think of him now - but that's not really a bad thing, not as sad as you might think.

Yay for fall! (And after that last link I have visions of kitties sitting in sunbeams and batting at falling leaves.)

That's a happy vision! The way the sun comes into our Great Room, Kika loves it too, and she spent hours today curled up in the pile of flannel sheets I've thrown over the balcony (best way to start the journey to the laundry room in the basement until the laundry chute gets done). The sunlight was hitting it just right. She was a very happy girl.

Yes, I was waiting for the dryer to finish so I could transfer laundry yesterday, but I was cold. So I went out to sit in the sunshine on the deck. My dogs joined me and sprawled out in the sun, and we enjoyed it very much until I got sleepy and ended up crashing on my bed for an afternoon nap. :D

I also washed my winter electric blanket and line-dryed it, so now it smells of the outdoors.

I count the holiday season as beginning with Halloween; and yes, January is a huge letdown. I'm especially excited to be able this year to decorate and celebrate with a like-minded partner.

Fall is my favorite season as well for many of the same reasons, cool, crisp, with a very clean feel to the air. I get so much done in the Fall because of the cooler weather, even if it is putting up the plants for winter.

Spring is the other favorite season, the season of rebirth and growing, quite a lot of energy in Spring but it is a different type than Falls energy.
