Tried to catch a few of my family members over the weekend (ok, just mom and dad) but I realize that I've been somewhat remiss in keeping my lj account up to date with my life. I'm attempting to rectify that with the following post about my weekend

I don't like the way they're all staring at me, and the short one in the corner is being very droll.

loudon wainwright is great, but don't go thinking you can just get any old loudon cd and be happy with it. that's what i did, and it ended up being all political comedy songs. maybe if i had listened to it beyond that realization i would have enjoyed it and be a different person today, but i didn't.

yeah, I usually like to check with Clint before committing to an artist like that. It's how I learned that I could buy a Leonard Cohen "Best of" but had to make sure to purchase two specific Tom Waits cds.

which two Tom Waits CDs? I have one, and it's awesome.

the one I've got is "swordfishtrombone" and I really like it. Clint told me I need to pick up "my blue valentine" but I haven't found it yet.

I haven't looked too hard, I think I only went to two places and then stopped specifically looking. I often walk into a record store and promptly forget what I walked in there for - since I work downtown I'm surrounded by them, too. I'll make a list and Eve and I will spend a day wandering this summer.
