How our lives weave into one another's like a quilt is undeniable. It is a tangled spider web of exposed nerves and issues swept under the table. Throw in the name of another close friend whose life intertwines with the three of us and you have a fiasco on your hands.

I have to say Juska, I don't think you've said anything more dead on or plain truthful lately. My only wish for the New Year is that we can all do that. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Actually, it is a bit frightening how painfully honest all of my words above were. Thank you for actually taking the time to read, I know I get carried away at times and just assumed everyone would skip over this post.

At least they're on their way to making amends with each other. That's something good.

I've never met any of Hugh's past lovers, but I know if I did, I'd feel more than a twinge of jealousy; maybe even some fear that I wasn't as good as they were and that Hugh would want them more than me. I think that's partly why I've always been unavailable when Hugh would met up with his exes. I don't want that kind of insecurity casting a pall over their meeting. I don't want my issues fucking everything up, like they always do.

I guess I understand how you felt, in some small way.

Yes, it is good that they are on their way to making amends, it makes me very happy. I just want us all to be the friends I know we can be.

I think those feelings are universal. It is never fun seeing your lover with their ex or exes. I suppose I did not put too much thought into it ahead of time, what I would feel like when I actually saw them together. To be honest, they look very good together, that could be what hurts the most. But, again, it is a good thing that they are working through the unsettled issues between them. They both mean so much to me, I just want them to be able to get along. Only time will tell how the story ends.

tim and i got in late last night and crashed for a few hours before we spent new year's getting drunk and fucking each other stupid. we're finally up this morning and groaning in pain, but we can make it down to your place in about two hours or so.

It was a tension filled evening, but things are getting better. That is all I could really ask for. Sounds like you had a wonderful New Year's. There is something I love about messing up a neat and clean hotel room.

Oh, absolutely. There was never any question about wanting to visit with you two, I am certainly looking forward to it. We will be here will bells on, possibly literally.
