I dont like Palin, but I wanted her to do fairly well during her debate. I was worried that if she looked like a complete jackass she would ruin it for the rest of the women out there ( Read more... )

Good for you! My best of luck with these stuck-in-the-mud family members. About five years ago, I sent an e-mail to my cousin Wanda and asked her to please take me off her e-mail spam list that was chock-full of scary shit, 24/7, about politics, plus the predictable urban folk legends about women being kidnapped at shopping malls, etc.

that's a good idea. I usually just delete them too but they do make me so angry. there are people getting paid to sit around and cook those emails up! and make them look like they are from "a friend"...so good for you for taking it to another level. I hate when people think they know something without even having READ THE BOOK for themselves. it's also amazing how people close to you can have these beliefs that are so different, when if you asked them how they would react (if say confronted with making funding decisions) they would probably have similar values. I think it has a lot to do with how you define yourself - ie how your mom's family is republican, so she might consider herself one without even comparing the candidates fairly. The only upside of W is that he's such a disaster, finally a lot of people are reconsidering.

...just because Palin has a vajay-jay doesn't mean you have to root for her. She isn't a woman, she is The Devil.

she misquoted a Madeline Albright quote off a starbucks cup and said there is a special place in hell for women who dont support women

actual quote "theres a special place in hell for women who dont HELP other women"

She should have held on to that latte cup to read from during the speech. Why take the time to memorize. Thinking is hard.

I have to work on a project plan tonight. AND it's raining cats and dogs outside, so I shall stay at home. Thanks for the invite though.
