joan baez, bob dylan and the rain

It's raining today, but gently and the sky is trying to choose between light and clouds. Its colour is white in some places and very pale blue in others. I feel odd today as if I am coming down with something so I decided to relax and listen to music, mainly Bob Dylan and Joan Baez.

Their songs take me back to when my sister and I were in our late ( Read more... )

I loved the story of you and your sister making up words to Bob Dylan's song. That sounds like what my sister and brother and I would do on our annual camping trips. Those jokes continue into adulthood.

You and I are not musically compatible! Bob Dylan and Joan Baez are on my list of "Singers I Can Not Stand to Hear Sing." On the other hand, they are two of my brother's favorites. He'll do Joan Baez singing impersonations just to annoy me.

I hope you feel better. A rainy evening with music and tea might be the cure.

I have a lot of stories I could tell regarding Bob Dylan. I never knew him personally but back in the day some major events in my life seemed to include him in one way or another.

I like all different kinds of music but he and Joan Baez have stayed with me all these years. Folk music has always been a favourite.

Yes, thanks, I am feeling a bit better. This time of year brings on my grass and tree allergies and sometimes triggers a sinus infection, which I think I was starting to get. I'm trying to send it packing by using a steroid nasal spray and Advil Cold & Sinus. I don't want to visit the doctor but I think if I need to I can get him to call my pharmacy with a prescription for antibiotics.

I love that image of the two of you singing about the spider infested outhouse in the style of Bob Dylan.

I do hope you feel better soon, feeling ill is a bit scarier than usual these days.

Thank you so much. I think I am/was getting a sinus infection triggered by my seasonal allergies. I do feel better today so perhaps I've managed to fight it off.

Thank you! I am starting to feel a bit better. I know this isn't the virus but probably a sinus infection. Am taking some meds I had on hand in case this happened. My allergies usually trigger it.

I became a fan of folk music during the 1960's thanks to my father taking me to a coffee house in the beatnik area of town when I was a kid. There was a neighbourhood in Toronto full of art galleries, little trinket shops and coffee houses. They fascinated me to such a great extent I even dream about them now.

I hope you start to feel better soon. Your description of the outhouse reminds me of my very early childhood (3) in Ireland. I was terrified of our outhouse and very relieved when we moved to Dublin, with indoor plumbing.

LOL. At the time I couldn't believe that country cottages had to have outhouses and not indoor toilets! When we visited my mother's aunt's country house in Quebec I was impressed because it was not only big but it had two indoor toilets and even a television set!
