Metallic gold printing
I've been thinking about this since I found a reference on the Old Bailey Archives to "gold printed waistcoats." I wondered if they meant "gold" in the sense of "yellow" (though I've never seen fabric printed with just yellow). Searching for "gold" seemed to bring up only references to coins, watches, and the like. I couldn't find any use where ( Read more... ) -
Fabric prints
I received my copy of Wearable Prints: 1760-1860 today. Wow, this book is full of info and color pictures. It's about 600 pages and will take me forever to digest it. I've already learned some things just flipping through it.

We took our tower to the computer guy. Hopefully he can figure out what's going on and he's going to expand the memory while it's there. I'm not doing much of interest, but I'm still working my way slowly through inter-library loans.
