I am struggling for ideas for Liam for Christmas. Many of you gals have lovely little boys and have been through this age already. So.. I come to you

How about a wooden train table with a train set? All my boys have loved trains. I would suggest only getting the Thomas brand because it IS WORTH the money. They hold up better AND they fit better. I bought an offbrand at Toys R Us once and half the pieces weren't cut right making it impossible to fit them together. It is kind of pricey but you can get an off brand train table for $70 or so at Target - then get a nice Thomas the TRain wooden train set for around the same price. We have several of the Thomas train sets - boys LOVE them. Even the boy I am babysitting loves the trains

Maybe you could go to the Toys R Us website (even WalMart) and search toys by age. I'm pretty sure they have that feature on both websites. I can't help you much otherwise I too have a little girl and would be stumped if I had to buy anything for a boy besides clothes.
I googled "car road rug". It comes up with hundreds. Then you can get him some chunky plastic cars, trains, etc.
I know when John was little, he always wanted those hot wheels ramps. Usually, they are pieces of junk, cheaply made, hard for little ones to work. And the little hot wheels cars have small metal pieces... and since lil' man OBVIOUSLY likes to swallow things, lol. They are also dangerous for small kids who like to throw things.
Connor was, and still is, in love with cars ... or, anything with wheels, really. Two of the toys he always loved the most were his Thomas the Tank Engine trains/tracks/etc and his GeoTrax sets!! He loved them both so much we saved everything for Colston, when he's old enough. :)
I would recommend those for Liam. Both Thomas and GeoTrax have so many options for sets/additions and so forth. They're a lot of fun!! I have also heard great things about Little People sets, although I have no personal experience with those since Con was never interested.
