On Sunday I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World with Andy. He confirmed that it is indeed made of awesome. And you would think this would be right up my alley- I am the largest video game/comic book/TV geek among all of my friends.

Scott Pilgrim didn't have the same mass quantity of pop-culture references as The Middleman, but I think it did well to work in all kinds of geeky video game tidbits.
It took me a few minutes to get used to the way scenes were cut together. What felt like a weird dream sequence at the beginning turned into a very smooth transition style.
I loved the music, too. That adds a lot to the film for me.
What was it that you didn't like?

I've never understood this trend that developed a few years ago where other people being stuck in awkward situations invoked laughter instead of sympathy. (As a side note, this is why "The Office" makes me cringe instead of laugh.)
I guess I just expected a lot more fights and a lot less of Scott being stuck in awkward situations.
My own fault for only making through the first book because the art was so bad; though the fact that the people in the book looked so little like actual people probably made me notice the awkward less.
