Hey! I am finally getting back to the rest of my German trip pics. Here's the second set of Salzburg pics. The first set is here:

Believe it or not, this is a cemetery! Saint Peter's Abbey's Cemetery.

These are some of the coolest graves I've ever seen. All have ornate markers and lots of plants and flowers. And even though some of these graves are quite old, some people were buried here as early as last year!

Detail of a grave marker.

In the cliff face next to St Peter's Abbey was a mausoleum. I had to check it out!

It cost like, a Euro and some change to go in. I had to duck when i went through the doorway! Spooky!

I'm assuming these are crypts. The lettering was very worn, but also had some pretty cool artwork.

Overlooking Salzburg was a really cool castle/fortress. Hohensalzburg fortress has been around for quite some time. The interior has severla musuems about the history of the area, including relics from World War I, when Italy fought Austrian troops in these here hills!

Inside the fortress! It was basically a castle, fortress, and small city. I even saw things like children's playsets and cats there.

This was at the netrance to a marionette museum. The cartoon is Bishop Wolf Dietrich, the guy who built the Mirabell gardens for his mistress. The cute lil' cartoon explains how he was forced to spend the last 7 years of his life imprisoned in the fortress. Sheesh!

Some of the marionettes!

Behold! The gohst of good ol' Wolf Dietrich. The puppet rose to the opening when you opened the door.

View of Salzburg from the fortress!
