Very neat to hear your thoughts. Kudos to whoever the asker was.

One of the things I remember about finding out Owen would be... well... Owen, was that I actually felt like raising a well balanced girl might be easier. (I'm not sure I would make the same call at this point). My reasoning went something like this: I'm the child of a strong feminist and my wife is strong and assertive too. I guess I felt like I could help raise a strong, self-confident little girl more easily than I can raise a sensitive boy who understand emotions.

As for the labor itself, I know you'll do fine. Its a time when you can really switch off your own needs and just do whatever is asked of you. I don't think you'll have as much trouble as you think. I would also say you talk with your doctor before hand about what parts you could participate in and settle on what you do or don't want to do. (ok, so that was a super-obvious suggestion... but just in case).

I enjoyed your worries and your excited feelings. It's endearing. You will know exactly what to do when the time comes Wil - and Aim will fill you in on the rest. It is the most awesome experience ever.

As for the rest - it is all so amazing. To see what two people can create together and all the lessons you will teach and you will teach so many - even the strength and confidence parts come from you both.

New parents always make me smile. It is your glow and emotions about it all that renew the feelings of just how awesome it is. It was wonderful to read this from you.
