I'm curious....which diaper brand did you try (with presumably dire results)? We've always used huggies snug & dry and loved them...but not all huggies are created equally! We once tried Huggies Baby Shaped Fit--let me just say, they don't fit our baby! When Owl came along Aeshna warned us about a particular brand of diaper saying using them was next to inviting a blow-out. I've avoided them so much I've blocked out the name. ;-) I think she said it was....Luvs? Aeshna, any input ( ... )

I can't remember clearly either, but I do believe it was Luvs. Gods I remember the days of searching through diaper brands to find the one that was the least likely to cause a blowout. I also remember changing crib sheets in the middle of the night while John washed all the poop off of Rayn. :) My only wakeup last night was that Rayn crawled into bed with us sometime in the middle of the night, I'm not exactly sure when that was though. Sorry about your rage inducing night, Will, I hope you were eventually able to go back to sleep.

The 4am part is fine. I get up every day at 4 or so to change her before Amy feeds her.

We've been using Pampers Swaddlers and I thought I'd try out Huggies. The ones King Soopers happen to have for newborns are Gentle Care. We had leakage at about 50%, my least favorite being when she was in bed with Aim and pee was literally just coming out the side and running down the bed.

Its not even just containment on the Huggies I don't like. Their shape makes them try hard to curve around the baby, which makes it tough to clean the baby (I put down a second diaper under the first before I take the first off, and with the Huggies, as soon as the first one's off the second closes like a clam and continues to try to do so).

Anyway... back to my beloved swaddlers!

Yeah, I always like the Pampers best myself. More expensive, but saves on laundry...so worth it.

Swaddlers are more expensive, best ones for the job before they start moving about. After that you have to trial and error you way through brands until you find one that works, because each child wiggles in their own fashion.

Good luck on the diaper pail thing, I never sorted that out. =)

We must be in a weird economic spot, since at our local store Pampers and Huggies are both 9.99 for 40 N size.

Excellent, it used to be the gold label nonsense. =)
