One of the other authors is going story by story thru MoD, which is an interesting approach.  I find his comments fair-minded:

The second story in the collection to take its title from a confectionary-related death that turns out to be irrelevant to the main characters. And like Flaming Marshmallow, that put me off it for a while.

I wondered if it was something like that. The title didn't bother me, but I did suspect it had been shoehorned into the death-prediction format against its will.

I disagree with the reviewer. Comparatively I dislike the "surprise ending" stories. Take Yahtzee Croshaw's story that he read this week. I love the way he both writes and reads, but the surprise ending left me completely cold. I'd much rather read about the unexpected ripples left in the wake of predictions.

So yeah, Fudge matched nicely with the type of story I like best.

The name did surprise me, but not egregiously so.
