WooHoo! Way to go Katie pursuing that long-desired dream of working on your Ph.D!! :)

So then, since you already have your MA, then you'd only need three years to complete the Ph.D requirements for this specific specialty?

Thanks! WOOHOO!

It looks as though it will take me two years to complete the coursework (if I take an average of two classes per quarter) and an additional 14 months for comps and dissertation. I'm projecting graduating in 2014. :) :) :)

These are not terribly personal questions! I'm happy to give you my thoughts ( ... )

I was actually wondering about your MK business too...

(BTW, I've still been meaning to order more stuff from you -- the intentions are there, it's just getting around to it when there is $$ in the checking account that's the problem on my end!)

I'm still in business and not planning to close! :) Totally understand on the finances, take as much time as you need. I was wondering what you are thinking about ordering - if I know in advance I can make sure to have it in stock. I plan to scale back my inventory to cover what I will use and sell.

I am so so very excited for you!! And proud of you. This is huge. I'm so glad that you are going to be doing this and that you have found a route that fits you and fits your family. (I am also a tad envious and definitely a bit motivitated to get my butt into gear and get myself back into school.)

Congratulations! This is so very exciting! Does Capella operate on standard semesters or are they trimesters? October 11 seems an odd start date for normal semesters, hence my question.

I'm so very thrilled for you!! :-D

Capella divides the year into four quarters, 12 weeks each (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec.) You can take anywhere from 1-3 courses per quarter. Some of the programs require a traditional fall start, but many of them allow you to start as soon as you are accepted and ready. I could have started July 12 (tomorrow!) but for me that seemed way too soon, especially with APA coming up.

Both my parents and I have online degrees (though, I did go to some physical classes) and fail to see any sort of stigma through them.

I think this is awesome for you and I'm so glad to hear that you've found a path that integrates the work you've been doing with the dream that you've had.

Congrats, dear!

Thank you! And thanks for the insight re: online degrees. I've met many people who have gotten MBAs from the University of Phoenix and were happy with their education. The internet has done wondrous things for education.
