Camp is over.  While I can say I'm excited for school, I miss the kids already.  We had entirely too much fun teaching the kids how to swim and throw water balloons and generally raise hell.  On Friday we added soap to tempera paints and let the kids paint each other before throwing them in the lake.  It was quite a sight.

I started knitting again. It really is theraputic and gives me something at least quasi-productive to do.  My yarn and such has been sitting under my desk forever.  I really haven't touched it since JTerm (shut up).  I'm making scarves by the dozen so don't be surprised if one comes your way.  On another note I am really bored with scarves and hats ( Read more... )

I cannot even begin to describe the sheer exhaustion.  It is completely and utterly satisfying.

I worked a rental at camp last week.  9 or 10 hours a day or lifting people from wheelchairs into the water and back, nearly having a heart attack as a deaf woman continually did the "dead man's float" (a lifeguards worst nightmare).  Chasing sneaker- ( Read more... )

Today was amazing.

The park, old friends, cool river water and ice cream.  I couldn't have asked for more.

And I ventured into the basement today and unpacked all of my old things I packed up before I went to school and found the old letters that I'd spent forever looking for.  Sometimes being a pack rat is a good thing.

So after a long chat with Lydia last night I decided it would be a sin to not at least look at my study abroad options for junior year.  And I hit the jackpot.  SIT Study Abroad has what appears to be an amazing program in Jamaica.  It focuses on gender/cultural history, feminist movement etc.  If anyone at all has any expirience with these people ( Read more... )

Lifeguard Recert was Friday.  Lets just say my test taking skills are a little out of practice.  I did, however, remember a number 2 pencil.
