Is there any other way to help him?

only letters, I'm afraid. If it gets down to the wire, it will be up to Leo to request that we step it up, but for now his lawyers are pushing for letters.

yeah...IS there any other way? I'm afraid if I write a letter in support, but don't know him at all, that they won't take me seriously!

Since you don't know him, your letter can express concern for the safety of a person like him being returned to a country like mexico.

every letter helps, even if it's just on principle!

erg. it's not actually true. canadian immigration usually requires you know the applicant for a certain amount of time, and actually a decent chunk of it. it's still a good idea, because it would be approproate support (as you said, principal) but they won't all "count."
