Some of you may know that I just did a couple of burlesque shows, 'Toys for Ta-Tas,' Well, yesterday, I got to go along with the inimitable Hottie McNaughty to Toys 'R' Us to spend a ridiculous amount of other people's money, and then give it all away when we were through. While I normally eschew false eyelashes before noon, I was all tarted-up ( Read more... )

February 20th and 27th, at the Columbia City Theater (a lovely venue, by the by). The shows are midweek, but are for a *great* cause, and the quality is top-notch! I know that at least the infamous 'rubber duckie' act is on the schedule for this show.

Awesome. You'll have to post a picture if you get a chance. And you listed your music as "Dan Fogleburg..." That wouldn't happen to be "Longer," would it? I had it stuck in my head Sunday.

I had the greatest hits on, since I read this morning that he died (sad, but I guess he'd made his peace with it). Longer is one of my favorites. The Leader of the Band always makes me cry, if I actually listen to the words...

I will totally post a pic when I get them! Oh, and since I've got you, you service-person-you: I was thinking of the pinup thing, and how it was really a troops-support thing when it originated, and how cool it would be to try to get something like that going in the now. What think you of that?

As long as you're not looking for a very broad audience, I think in the right venue it would be a lot of fun. The military is sort of a funny thing these days on the subject - real porn is readily available and anything that singles out women as sexy symbols is just asking for an "Equal Opportunity" complaint. There are lots of groups that do pen-pal arrangements and other groups that send packages. I felt very appreciated while over there - so much so, it was hard to actually select and purchase toothpaste for myself when I got home.

So my question back to you is: What exactly were you thinking about doing?

There's a group of women already doing something like this. We saw a story about it - either King 5 news or Evening Magazine, I forget which. A quick search would probably find it.
