... and I feel AWFUL (ha).

I spent the whole morning in this weird mental haze where I kept having the surreal thought "I am going to RUN today!?".  I haven't run - voluntarily - for six years.  I've never enjoyed running; I've never been good at it.  And I've always known people who loved it and were great at it, which only made me hate it more.  ( Read more... )

I think you should find a way to talk to her anyway- maybe just make small talk; don't actually draw attention to HER specifically, but be friendly. That way maybe you can get to a point eventually where you WILL feel comfortable enough telling her how inspiring she is. : ) You could be the thing that makes the gym more exciting for her!

I think I will. Not while she's working out, because I would HATE it if someone started talking to me while I was in the middle of an interval or something, but the next time we're in the sauna at the same time I think I'll say hi. I want to find a way to make her feel that not all the staring jackasses are judging her for being fat, but I don't think I can say "Hey, I've been where you are, I've been fat and lost a lot of it, keep at it" because she's so much larger than I ever was, you know?

She obviously shares your schedule, maybe you could be workout buddies? I am pretty sure that when I get up from my chair in a bit, my legs are going to be on fire!

Yeah, I think I'll say hi to her the next time we're in the sauna at the same time. At the very least, it would be nice for me to have someone to smile and nod to when I'm there, and maybe she feels the same way.

Did you do W1D1 today too? My thighs were killing me right after I got off the treadmill, but I think I stretched out enough that they'll be okay... they're not killing me right now, which is a good sign. Did you run outside? I've heard that running outside is even harder than running on the treadmill because of the harder ground and variable inclines... I definitely don't think I'm ready to run outside!

LOL, I just saw your post about W1D1. One down, the rest of my life to go, right? I can't believe you did an extra set, I was about dead.

I really do like the c25k podcast, if you have an iPhone or an iPod touch. If not, I think the Robert Ullrey podcasts are free, but you have to listen to his music.
