The department had its annual Labor Day picnic today.  I was a bit anxious about it, because the last time the department fed me didn't go so well, but I'm still not really ready to say that I can't participate at all in the things that everyone else thinks is normal.  I've tried before to just "be sensible" without making my life significantly ( Read more... )

Well, today was interesting.

We had a day-long orientation seminar at work, to get started for the new semester.  It started at nine and went right through until five, with very little in the way of breaks.  They were very nice and provided food... obviously, I could have brought my own and been very fastidious about what I ate, but I'm still not ( Read more... )
