I've become even more enamored with British wit and chick lit. Michael and I went on a used-DVD splurge a few weeks ago, with a tempting deal from a local video store. We bought the following titles:

Isn't Colin scrumptious? He's an amazing actor, and he's not bad to look at, either! ;o) I've been a fan of his for years, as well as of Ralph Fiennes.

I couldn't believe when they cast Colin as a father in "What a Girl Wants" - I just can't see him as a dad! Oh, and D.B. Sweeney ("The Cutting Edge" hockey player/figure skater) is a father of teens in a new series this fall, "Life as we know it."

Granted, Colin just turned 44 (Happy Belated Birthday - September 10th!), Ralph is 41, and D.B. is almost 43, but they're all so amazing!!! I must be getting old; it's confirmed when I hear 15 year olds calling them "Dad" on screen, and calling them "old" in real life. Now Ralph's brother Joseph (34) isn't bad, but hes not his brother.

I don't feel much older than when I was in my teens, but I guess I am quite a bit more far removed than I like to think. My hubby just had his 10-year high school reunion, and mine isn't far off!

Wasn't it excellent? :o) Definitely worth buying without prior viewing, though I did want to see it in the theater. Watching it on our surround sound system was fantastic, though - definitely makes movies more enjoyable, especially for my hubby. I thought he wasn't into movies, but he just wasn't into the bad sound quality. With surround sound, I can't get him away from the TV! LOL!
