Anyone think it's alright to threaten suicide to get attention?

I've got a friend who threatens suicide on a regular basis, whenever he feels ignored or something, and its really annoying, especially since, soon as someone pays him some attention, he is all happy like again.

Anyone else think this is a bit immature, and find this offensive?

I know exactly how you feel. Explain this to him and tell him to get on with it; one way or the other your problem is solved.

also, report him to the school counsler. they should snap hm back into reality... and if all else fails, call the police and tell them you think hes suicidal... wait, dont do the last one, its crazy, and you can get in serious shit for that

Tell him that if he has nothing to live for he might as well kill himself and shut up. More air for the rest of us and all.

Um...I think we have all been over this before. And I don't see the point in your post. If you word the situation in such a biased manner (not that that's not a valid POV), of course you're just going to get a lot of comments about how we all hate people who talk about suicide for attention. All you're succeeding in here is getting a lot of people to make someone who's already feeling bad feel worse.

You always accuse me of not believing you feel bad. You should stop being a martyr and practice what you preach.

I do believe that he feels bad, however, he always seems to cheer up, and forget about how he was allegedly going to kill himself about 10 seconds after anything else comes up, which leads me to believe he never intended to in the first place, and was just doing so to push my buttons.

Oh, also the point of the post was to show i was actually serious about being annoyed and offended when the said person does this.

It wasnt to make him feel worse, it was to get him to stop bullshitting to me about this.
