I’ve lost 10 pounds total, so far! Admittedly it’s taken me a bit longer than I would like but I haven’t exactly been exercising, either, so I just have myself to grump to/about. That’s ok, though. I know eventually I’ll pick up somewhere and get going and hopefully be able to lose more!

Managing diet is how you lose weight. Exercise makes you healthy and strong, but you can't really lose a lot of weight by exercise alone. (a 30 minute jog? like 100 calories. That's 2/3s of a snickers bar.)

I AM trying to keep to things during the week but every now and again I break down and have a small something off diet/Nutrisystem. I figure that's better than ignoring and overdoing things later. I've also pretty much been able to cut down my soda amount and been trying to keep water nearby all the time.

The no S thing is fantastic, 'cause you know you'll get your snackage on the weekend. So you start to plan and look forward to things then instead of "I really wanna chew on some peanuts now" or whatever. I've been doing it for a few weeks and it gets easier. Just remind yourself that you don't need that thing you think you did. I do allow myself one soda a day, as a treat. I usually have it in the evenings after dinner. Couple of days ago I was up really late and decided I'd splurge and have another... and about halfway into it realized I really didn't want it afterall. :)
Changing habits is tough, but very doable. Takes some discipline, but you've got that in spades. You can do this. I'm proud of you for starting it. Can't wait to see you when you've accomplished it. ;)

I have been allowing myself the occasional soda when the craving doesn't go away. Even then I don't even usually finish the bottle (no cans in the machine at work) so I save it for later. I've also been eating more veggies since I started the Nutrisystem plan where previously I ate some only occasionally.
I'm only disciplined to a point. ;) That's how I ended up having the frosty and such last week. I didn't let myself feel guilty about it though, thankfully! I'm just impatient and want to reach goal NOW but I know it's best to do it slowly. I just have to relearn my patience. Again. :)
