I've noticed that in online media (news sites), the shortest word rules, and never mind any nuances. Moe never criticizes or questions or expresses a difference with Larry in an online headline. Moe SLAMS Larry.

I suppose if it weren't for the slang word "nuke," we might never hear about the latest nuclear threat above the latest antics of the arbitrarily famous (and I'll bet the online press loves those compact names of "Iran" and "Iraq" vs. "Afghanistan").

If it seems I'm only barely touching on the topic, it might be because I'm trying very hard not to visualize stupid uses for Fix-a-Flat as per the article link. Nnng. It hurts to think about it!

Or say the stock market drops by 1%, and the headline is: Stocks PLUMMET!. Gah. I'm tired of every story trying to sound so sensational when it isn't.
