May I just say that were I constructing important structures connected to a railway with nigh constant derailments, I would make sure they were engineered to withstand the impact of 3 - 4 fully loaded freight cars? I'm just saying.

It's a miracle that the Sodor Tourism Bureau is able to whitewash the dozens of fatalities per week that must be happening. I mean, really, if Henry goes off the rails and plows through a courtyard in the middle of Topham Appreciation Day celebrations, you can't tell me it didn't turn somebody into hamburger. But nooooo, all we get is Henry making the "O" face and rolling his eyes around rapidly.

That said, as someone who was, approximately twenty-something years ago, a young boy, I can understand the appeal. Stories about trains that run in a safe and orderly fashion? Not cool.
