Still Alive........

Actually just wanted to give a quick update, and let anyone who was actually concerned with my Guns N' Roses dilemna know that Axl Rose fucking cancelled!!!!!!!!!!  Luckily, I had decided to roady for Goatwhore that night (and what a fucking night, it was great!), and didn't have to deal with paying too much for a concert that didn't happen ( Read more... )

That sounds great! I hope something comes of it.

Axl really is a wanker, isn't he.

Why am I not surprised he cancelled? Axl has always been such a fucking drama queen.

And dude, good luck.

Yeah, no shock here. It's days like this I'm ashamed of being such a big Guns N' Roses fan.

Thanks.

Wow man. That sounds like a fucking blast. I've never worked live concerts but I imagine it's a lot like working a live TV set. I really miss working video production. I worked a few gigs where it was a stage setting with an audience and did sound for a whole season of summer stock theater at Washington State University and I just loved the energy that an audience brought to a production. I loved the "do it right the first time 'cause it's fucking live and there's no do-overs" kind of focus.
Sounds like you've got the right attitude. It's not something that will make you rich, but it's extra money and it's a fucking blast. Can't beat that!!
Best of luck to ya. If you ever get a roadie gig on a national tour and end up in Seattle give me a shout man!!

Yeah, it was a blast! I didn't have to do anything too technical this time though. We just helped the bands (mainly the headliner) setup and break down the equipment, and then carry the stuff out to their vans. Everything went real smooth though, and the hardest part of my night was pulling some drunk kid off the floor (his head was parked right in front of one of the amps), taking him outside so he could puke, and then giving his keys to his friend.
I can't wait for the next show, and if I ever do find myself out on the west coast you'll be sure to hear from me! :)
