The waterfall

Dec 28, 2005 15:55

Here are a couple of pictures of the waterfall my partner and I had built in our back yard, right off our deck. The sound is amazing--soothing, restful, nourishing to the soul. Thanks to bradys_rulz for helping me figure out how to post photos!

How lovely. I am seriously jealous.

Maybe I'll get a bubbler for my 9' x 16' backyard. (Maybe.) njs

Well, FanSee, I highly recommend the sound of water, even if all you have space for is one of those bubbling rocks. They take up very little space but there's nothing quite like bubbling water to calm a person down. I can hear it from my bedroom and I sleep so much better these days!

Our waterfall sprang a leak a couple of weeks ago due to the freeze-thaw business working on that steep left-hand side. That explains why I couldn't keep water in it during the bad weather, and why our back yard has turned into a swamp! I pulled up the liner and stopped the leak, and the pond guy is coming tomorrow to fix it. With a bubbling rock I wouldn't have had that problem, but I wanted something that would stay running all winter. The birds and animals love it--the nearby creek is quite polluted, alas....

So how has your holiday been going? Post something and let us know when you get a chance. And I'm looking forward to your new/revised fic!!!

"So how has your holiday been going? Post something and let us know when you get a chance."

You mean, like a real Live Journal post, not just a response? Not sure I can do that! If I posted what really interests me, everybody would realize how limited I am.

My post today would go something like this, "Thank heavens Samantha is back home and I got to work on Dominance. I reviewed five chapters, tweaked all five, and sent them back to Chering. Haven't written anything new, and that's starting to bother me. I should be working on 10th Grade."

Tomorrow's post would say (I hope), "Wrote ten paragraphs of 10th Grade."

Bo-or-ring. FanSee

Ha! FanSee, it sounds just like MY day's events: "Thank goodness Deb is back to work! Can't focus on anything when she's in the house. But today I swear all I did was go to my therapist and spend an hour feeding and coaxing that lovely black and white strsy cat when I should have been working on the lit. review for my dissertation. I feel like such a slug! I have to get that chapter finished by the end of January or I'll never get it approved!"

Boy, I hear ya! That's why I don't post, either!
