Working all this overtime is killing me. I mean, for chrissake, at one point last week, half of the days I had worked had been 16 hour days. The weekend of the 20th, I was forced over two days in a row. They kept 6 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday. At 6 o'clock Sunday morning, a co-officer was driving to work, hit a patch of black ice, slid into the opposite lane, and was struck and killed by an oncoming truck.

He was 22.
