It's interesting to know a little bit about Fei's family background as well, after you wrote a lot about Mikhail's in the beginning.
And wow, your story is exciting as ever, can't wait to read the next part! I feel a showdown approaching... ^^
Keep up your great work, you're such a blessing for the Mik/Fei-fanworld <3

I'm glad it didn't bore you to death and that you're glad to read about Fei's part. A show down is coming at one point in the near future, although I can't say whether it will be in the next chapter or not. I have the plot all planned out, but stuff in-betweens like in this one always jump up and bite me XD

Thanks for stopping by and let me know you enjoyed it. And if I am a blessing, all my readers who keep me going are too.

P.S. We're still trying to finish Typhoon, it's just really long (which is great) but it will be done soon!

No worries about the beta-reading, I guess you must be very busy, so take your time :)

I think the 1st part was a bit "heavy", at first because of the angst and the pain suffered by Fei Long, then because of the length of his parents story. Luckily your great skill as a writer made the thing flow easy ( ... )

Younknow me, I love writing angst and I think I enjoyed writing the Fei part quite a lot, imagining his mother too was a joy ( ... )

I absolutely loved Yan in this b/c you showed us another layer of his emotions towards his father and brother. And even though he went through all that to have Fei Long taken off the throne, he'll still be more valuable to those who know him, even without Baishe. That has got to be a big kick in the head to Yan, lol!

Despite him being the "bad guy" I kinda like Yan b/c he's so conflicted. I love it when writers get into the inner most workings of his madness ^_^

I'm really glad you like the insight to Yan. A lot of it may be just a product of my imagination, but I've always felt there's a lot more to Yan than just a creepy villain an while reading high loft I felt most sorry for him. He appears to have a lot of conflicts within himself, perhaps even more so than Fei. From the manga it appears daddy has been kind to Fei, but he just didn't believe in Fei enough. To Yan, however, we see expectations but never really affection, and I can't imagine the kind of weight he must carry around being the heir, and having Fei who does everything well, who gets affection from daddy, who gets away with stuff because he's not the heir, and who the subordinates love and want to make him the leader instead. And we see a lot of this before he kills daddy. Despite what really goes on, I think Yan feels perhaps more unloved than Fei does, and with that pressure, I think I would be sick in the head too LOL But like I said to Terry, I don't think these reasons justify his behaviour. But it makes Yan a character ( ... )

You are as worthless as he is valuable to me

I absolutely love this! And you're right, I think Yan does feel more unloved than Fei feels he has. Even though he thought that Fei couldn't compete with him and be on his level, he could never compete with Fei. Fei was held in high regard despite being adopted and I wonder if Liu senior felt that Fei's heart was more pure than Yan. Like he could just feel that Yan had ill intentions all along.

I agree. In the end I feel daddy has always seen thebad quality in Yan and while we don't see it, it's likely that he must have shown at least some disappointment about this issue. Despite what Fei sees, you can tell daddy is 'softer' and 'gentler' with Fei, and I think he seems to worry about Fei more, telling him to leave things to brother, to which Fei interprets it as daddy seeing no worth in him when in truth he probably just babies Fei more than Yan. Maybe it's because Yan is the heir and he needs to be tough, and Fei does seem more vulnerable than Yan in nature, so daddy probably fears for him more. Yan is badly hurt as a son I think. Just look at him, he never bullies Fei like Mik bullies Aki i.e. having fun doing it, Yan is always in agony when he does. Almost conflicted in a way. And he does not have anyone, not even his own father. Fei has Asami and the entire organization loving him. In a way, I'm not sure if it's because he has a bad character, or the circumstances has forced him to turn into this sick villain. Sad story ( ... )

After a hard day of work, reading your words is always a great pleasure. Your explanation upon Fei Long's mother is accurate, fitting well in the storyline and without out-of-space pathos. I like the way Fei Long is willing but not willing to know about his mother, and as his beloved father is always a key button for him and guaranties full attention.
I don't think the plot is not moving because Fei Long is trying to free himself and Mikhail tries to find a way to retrieve him.
Have a nice Day of Work (one of our many days without in France !) and take good care of you and your family.

Wow I've missed you!! how have you bean? Your students treating you well?

Your comments always make me smile and even though not many ppl are reading anymore, it makes me feel the effort is worth it. I'm glad I was able to pull off the Fei part of this. I think most people see Fei's mom as a beautiful, kind soul, and that Fei will be sensitive and wanting to know her. When I think about it, Fei's personality isn't that subtle. He can be very bitter when betrayed by loved ones as we see in the case of Asami, and he doesn't care about his real father, so I believe he must somehow hates his mother, thinking she has abandoned him. And Fei being as vicious as he is, I like to imagine his mother just like him, and the gentleness he probably gets from being raised by Liu senior.

Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words. I'm most happy to hear I haven't messed up, especially from a sophisticated reader as yourself. *hugs* you have a great month!!

I like how you write Yan. Yes, the basic emotion toward Fei is jealousy, that moves everything in that man XD

And the interactions between Mik and him is also well written:)

BTW determined!Mik is extremely hot ^^

Thank you for this chapter!

I'm glad you like Yan too. I believe he's one of the most misunderstood character in VF and perhaps one of the most tragic. His depth is extremely inspiring!

Aww I am so glad everyone thinks Mik is hot here! *yay*
