Yesterday was not the best of birthdays. In fact, the first part of the day is tied for worst birthday ever. I went to the bloody BMV so I could renew my license, and was suddenly presented with a written test. I received a call earlier today from the Borders store in Chicago that I had applied to, and arranged an interview. The interview is for 11AM Chicago time on Wednesday the 16th. Fingers crossed.

Well, I'm here in England safe and sound. The flight from Philly was two hours late, due to a missing signature on a piece of maintenance paperwork. Those two hours were spent sitting in the airplane getting incredibly bored, with everyone (including the crew) getting frustrated and annoyed. We were all pretty glad to get off there in the end. Well, I'm finally applying for a job. And it's still with Borders. The big differences with this job are that it's an assistant manager's position, and it's on the north side of Chicago. I wish the weather would make up its mind. I was in shorts earlier this week, now I feel like I have to bundle up. Not that the temperature in my apartment has changed all that much; it went up to boiling, and only by running fans constantly has it gone down at all. Productivity at work has shot up, it seems. Everyone is tired of the store the way it is, so we're reorganizing and tidying everything. And yes, there will be sledgehammers at some point (at least I hope so--one unit of shelves is going to the dump).
