Shepherding those crazy DC ducks

I have to pass along the link from jenn2d2 to this video of DC reporters escorting a mother duck and her brood across Pennsylvania Ave. It reminds me far too much of last year's nesting duck getting protected by government officials.

humor, video

OMG that was adorable!! THANKS
I wonder if these were the ones that just hatched at the Ritz? Maybe not - I don't think that was so close to the capitol, but I could be wrong. I heard there were 11, she had nested in a flower pot outside the hotel and the potomac river was only a block away. (was a radio story)

I'm so glad they didn't mess this up with a voice over. Totally adorable. Mom obviously has no fear of humans - who appear to be at her (and her chicks) beck and call. I've got tears streaming down my face from the cuteness.

I didn't hear about the flowerpot duck. But the video is so cute. I'm glad they didn't do a voiceover, too. And no kidding on the lack of fear. She just kept bulldozing ahead, knowing everyone would get out of her way or make everyone get out of her way, and then she just waited for them to pick up the ducklings, knowing they'd get up and rejoin her. Heh. Silly ducks.

Though given how fast she was barreling along, they could have hatched from almost anywhere.
