I already told you how much I love it - that it rings so true, the torn and tormented thoughts of a man who's held so high and spends every moment dreading the fall. It's more than a little fascinating to see behind his eyes , and to gain a sliver of insight on his motivations. What makes him so eager to throw everything away in an instant, when there's obviously so much that he clings to so tightly? And I love that he scoffs at his very name. It's more than a little ironic that someone deemed a deity couldn't have less of a clue who they are - martyr or sacrifice, saint or sinner, fallen angel or false prophet. Of course, that's precisely what makes him so appealing. We always did fall for the truly fucked-up. :)

Marvelous, babes. Now write me some Starbuck.

Nice, very different. The view from his and the other pilots how they are splintered when out there fighting raiders. How moving so far and fast and with such twists and roundabouts. They rely on her to bring them home. She is in fact the voice of Home. Galactica I think she is her voice. Calling back in the safety of her bulk. Lee knows Galactica is home and is falling in love with both ship and Dee. Note to self, look for more fic like this.

VERY WELL DONE! *Does the mexican wave*

Thank you.

Thanks so much! That's exactly what I was trying to convey.

I enjoyed this; it gives a lot more solidity to the Lee/Dee relationship than we ever get to see on the show, and a much better justification for why he stays with her.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, after watching Sunday's episode, I just found myself thinking, you know, if they're going to stick with the four sided love Polygon of DOOM, and not really resolve anything between Lee and Kara, for god's sake, they could at least make more of an effort at convincing us Lee and Kara really are in love with Dee and Sam.

Wow! I had never thought of that as a reason for Lee to fall in love with Dee, but it makes a lot of sense. And I really like your descriptions of Lee in the cockpit--I haven't read many fics that focus on him as a pilot and a commander, and you capture that aspect of him beautifully.

Thanks! I'm always trying for original angles with my fics, so its always good to hear if I offered another perspective to something on the show. And yes, Lee as a pilot and a commander are some of the aspects of him I love most, so I tend to focus on those. And unfortunately, I haven't found nearly enough other fics out there that focus on those same aspects as well.

So I saw this on ffnet a few days ago, but I didn't want to read it because I've never liked Lee/Dee much and after watching the last episode I really hated them together. Then after you commented on my story today I had a look here and decided to give it a go...and I'm glad I did ( ... )

Somehow missed your comment on this, sorry! And thanks for the read and the kind words! They are most welcome.

Lol, well truth to be told, I'm not a Lee/Dee shipper either. Like, at ALL. Much rather prefer him with Kara despite how NOT healthy for each other they are, because let's face it, I'm a sick puppy and I enjoy Lee angst just a little too much. However, I haven't been all that impressed with what they've been doing to my fave character this season, and especially after that horrific scene of drunk Lee stumbling around in search of his ring, I was all just...no. Sorry, but no.

So basically, this fic was just therapy for me. As far as I'm concerned, the show's never made a very good case for him being with Dee, and I was trying to figure out what exactly about would attract Lee, and keep him in character at the same time....so it was more a character piece on Lee than a pairing story, if that makes sense at all.

Lee angst is fun. :) Also he and Kara may be unhealthy, but at least they're never boring - they make much better TV!

However, I haven't been all that impressed with what they've been doing to my fave character this season, and especially after that horrific scene of drunk Lee stumbling around in search of his ring, I was all just...no. Sorry, but no.I hated that scene too, it just seemed completely out of character, even if he was drunk. Then I listened to the podcast for that episode and RDM was saying that Edward Olmos directed that episode and pushed some of the actors into being more "emotional and dramatic" than usual - I think that probably explains both the Lee scene and the equally over-the-top scene with Laura threatening Baltar, which again seemed out of chracter to me ( ... )
