Doctor Who - The Wasp and the Unicorn
I loved it. A great light-hearted fun episode...and I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan (I think I have read all of her books, most of them several times) so I thoroughly enjoyed all the Christie in-jokes - I think I will have to watch it again just to count the number of her book titles in the dialogue. Thoughts on Battlestar Galactica
1. WHERE IS LEE?
2. As if I didn't dislike Sam enough, he shot Gaeta (who's one of my favourites). At least the shooting shocked Kara back into behaving like a Kara I actually recognise and don't dislike.
3. I am disenchanted with BSG in general. I've never really liked the mystical/prophecy aspects of the show, or the 'how Cylon society works' ( Read more... ) -
The Doctor meets Caecilius
A few thoughts about this episode:
"You have something on your back". That was creepy.
The explanation of the stone monster's plan was a bit rushed and technobabbly and I still don't understand it.
I'm sorry, but not even the Doctor can outrun a pyroclastic surge.
Loved the pop culture reference jokes - the Mary Poppins "Positions!" and "She's... ( Read more... ) -
Torchwood series finale
Well, that's it for me and Torchwood, I think. Which is a pity, because I enjoyed the first half of this series a lot. However after this I don't think I can be bothered to watch any more.
Reason 1: they killed off the only two characters I'm really invested in on the show. Jack bores me, I hate Gwen and Ianto is amusing but little more. I won't ( Read more... ) -
BSG ficlet - Friends
Kara had forgotten how much she hated rain. Especially this kind of fine rain that lashed against her face like needles and seemed to find its way through every seam in her clothes. As she struggled up yet another steep hill, she swore under her breath.
Planet of the gods, my ass.
It almost made her miss the harsh yellow heat of Caprica.

Torchwood
Just watched the first episode of the new Torchwood series, which provided additional proof that any TV series can be improved 100% by hiring James Marsters.
But I still can't stand Gwen. Definitely in my top ten of Most Annoying TV Character Ever.
