Every time I sat down to post I'd find myself overwhelmed by words, not all of them nice, and kept not posting. That may or may not have been a good thing.
I did not chatter at you because you kind of gave the impression that you preferred not to be chattered at.
I approve of your dream, and I am still sad for your loss.
If you want something fannish but non-wanky, I just wrote some NuTrek spec on Gaila, the green-skinned Orion Starfleet Cacademy cadet, to try and give her a job on the Enterprise:
I didn't mean to give that impression. I'd caution people in general from jumping easily to the conclusion that someone wants to be left alone after they've lost a loved one - people make that mistake very easily. In short: it's always better to check. People process grief differently and in an individuated fashion (obviously), but for every moment I can't handle company, virtual or otherwise, I have a moment where I need and crave it.
So don't assume. Believe me, if people can't handle company, they'll usually let you know.
I'm also somewhat sensitive to the fact that I'm kind of like the Jack Black of the Internet, in that a little of me goes a long way for a lot of people, so I wasn't exactly keen on subjecting you to ... well, myself, really. :/
Several times on the ISB comments page I've come *so* close to typing an "AngelPunisher with supernatural guns was a horrible travesty because of its wild misuse of the character, whereas FrankenCastle shooting samurai on Monster Island was totally awesome because...buhWHAT? One or the other, Sims, but you can't have it both ways" explosion, but I just don't have the energy for the processing and the back-and-forth "but in 2007 you clearly said *blah*" it would require.
I fear I may be one of those you think weird/rude. That aside, I'm glad to see you 'back'. I have missed you.
I did put this up a few weeks back because I didn't know if you were around or not. It's now going to be a Big Movie Event. Also? Enjoy Carter taking it to Oliver Queen.

It's nothing deep or profound, but I suspect you might benefit from an antidote to deep and profound right now.

That does not bode well, does it?
That will require an entire rant, obviously, and it'll be right up there with my Bendis vs. Tigra rant.
