Sims and other absences from reality

So, there's this new expansion pack for Sims 2, called Open for Business, and I got it last night. It was two in the morning before I looked up and realized my brain had been eaten ( Read more... )

Well, I'd guess it's because you haven't bought it yet?

Do you have basic Sims 2 at all? Because you don't really need the expansion packs for it to be fun, although they do add a lot. You can probably get Sims 2 the original version on the internet really cheap.

Ah yes, SimCity, I remember it well. I used to get a city to the point where it was turning a profit and then let it run on super speed all night so I'd have a ton of money in the morning. Maxis really does know how to make those addictive games.

Ahhhh... that would explain why you haven't been instantly responding to new 'Survivor' bits like you were previously... *g*

Speaking of, I'm working on the next part now. :)

You should make a Dave Sim! *g*

Emily :)

Hey, I'm still hanging in there. (Just posted another bit, actually.) And a Dave sim? Oooh, that's interesting. Hey, I could make a sim survivor island! With the whole tribe, like, the whole starting tribe and I can make Eric fight and then move him out and then lower Matt's relationship scores with everyone so they don't like him and then he moves out and if I put Dave in aspirational failure he'll start acting nuts and talking to bags of flour and seeing imaginary shrinks. And I can make Colin and Ryan flirt and fall in love and woohoo in the hot tub.

...I should stop before I actually talk myself into this.

Ooh, can you make islands on the Sims? 'Cause that would be way too cool.

Oh god, why am I encouraging you? *g*

Well no, not islands, but I could make little houses and a bonfire and play with all their relationship scores and even give Dave a crush on Colin and there's jealousy and gossiping and actual fistfights and making out and woohoo (which is the game's cute name for sex) in public places.

The downside is that having that many sims in one lot gets hard to handle, trying to manage them all. Someone usually ends up passing out from exhaustion or peeing on the floor or starving to death because sims are stupid when it comes to taking care of themselves.

P.S. I'm from Cleveland! Well, kinda... I live about 45 mins away. :) I always wish that Drew Carey was real, just so I could maybe randomly run into Lewis somewhere, and convince him that he needs to get together with Eugene, and... oh. I need help. *g*

Hah! I totally get that, actually, because in August our family was in Las Vegas and I was very into CSI at the time, which is of course set in Vegas and I was so excited to be there. I think I half-expected to see some of the CSIs hanging around, investigating things.

Also, so much yes for randomly running into Lewis. And I don't know if I'd try to set him up or try to flirt with him myself. *g*

Hmm, I don't know... Lewis is kind of... odd. *g*

Sadly, I don't think it would ever work between Lewis and I (or Ryan, for that matter, LOL!) because I am only 4'10". *bg*

Although I guess that could be a good height for, umm... certain things...

*scurries off, blushing madly*

I like the way your mind works. *g*

And Lewis is odd, yeah, but there's something about him that appeals to me. He just seems lonely, I guess. Plus, I'm 5'7" so it might work a little better. ^_^

*peeks in* Hi there! I wandered in from wl_fanfiction. (I got bored and decided to look at the members' journals. ^_^) I know this is totally random, but I am also a Sim addict (also just got OFB). If you want to get rid of the censor, download this: http://modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=90520&highlight=censor

It's a hack, so I'm not sure if you download custom objects, but from personal experience, it works great. Yeah, anyway, hope this works. ^_^

You know, it's amazing how much overlap there is between fandom people and Sims people. *g* And it's a great game, isn't it? I can't tell you how many of my fandom pairings I've created and made to live together and fall in love and all that good stuff. Thanks for the link! I use custom content all the time, so I snapped it up and put it in my downloads folder. We'll see how it works next time I play.

Glad to help. *g* I just had to uninstall the game and all the expansion packs because my computer is stupid like that. Hopefully I can reinstall because I really miss playing it. It's so addicting. *cries*
