House Fic: Amends

So I saw the mega-angst that was Whack A Mole last night, and kind of had to do something. I imagine most of the fandom will have little follow up stories to that one, but I am nothing if not a faithful fan follower. Anyway, story, which will obviously contain spoilers for the ep.

Well, that made me smile a bit after being emotionally wrecked by that episode. :)

while I too am not sure exactly what House would/will do, I tend to feel that whatever it is will be expressed in actions, not words (isn't there a bit early on in the series where a patient tells Wilson that you can tell if someone cares through actions, and Wilson pauses and says that House cares?). So this fic fit with my thoughts pretty well, which was cool.

I just don't know if actions would be enough for Wilson on the show, or if I necessarily want it to be...

Ah, thanks for picking up on the actions rather than words thing. I think that's a House tendency, too, and Wilson knows it. That's why I doubt he'd be mollified by words even if House did say them.

I do think House has a long way to go before Wilson can really forgive him and they can get back what they had. He's been taking Wilson for granted and using him for too long, and that's not going to go away overnight.

I think this fits. I'd like to think that's where House was heading. Be funny if it played out like this, but...

House definitely believes in action rather than words. When Wilson needed to talk about the situation between he and his wife, House wasn't interested. But when Wilson needed a place to stay, House invited him in.

It's probably the most bizzare friendship I've seen, which is why I love it so much. Well, that and I've loved RSL since Dead Poets Society. But back to the fic, I can see this happening. I can see Wilson taking advantage of it just because he feels he deserves it, not because it fixes anything. Which, if you think about it, makes those two more alike than we realize...

I would be amazed if this actually happens on screen, or even a variant of this. Going from the previews of next week, House isn't done being an ass just yet. Cuddy's in on it now, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing Cuddy vs. Tritter. I hope she cooks him.

Good point about House giving Wilson a place to stay. He even took steps to keep Wilson with him by erasing that message. I do think they have some definite things in common, like a similar sense of humor and difficulty with relationships. It's just that Wilson makes the effort to show a kinder side, while House seems to delight in being as harsh as possible. Thanks for the comments!

man, the ep just about killed me. and, don't get me wrong here, because i loved this piece, but mostly because it is really close to true. house realizes that he needs wilson, so he will do a few little things to reap the benefits of keeping his friendship. wilson using house is awesome though. i don't see this as being a mendable friendship right now.......so, unless there is some angry!sex to follow soon (okay, a girl can hope!), i'm afraid that these stories will get more and more angsty as the eps do as well!

but, the writing is fantastic as always and you've captured wilson's internal voice very nicely! well done!

I don't know about angry!sex although I could totally go for makeup sex. But I'm soppy that way. Angst is all fine and well, but I want a light at the end, a happy conclusion. The current arc on the show just seems determined to make it worse. I have to agree that I'm not sure this is mendable. Not unless House does something big, something real to fix things--and that just doesn't seem like House.
