Two things

First, I got a surprise in the mail. My degree finally got here! *dances* I graduated back in May, but they just now sent me the pretty shiny certificate and the transcripts and everything. It looks gorgeous with my name and the Summa Cum Laude in the scrolly letters. So, yay

You know, I thought about that, but I totally wouldn't know where to put it. What I need is a nice office to hang it in, instead of a corner of a partial cubicle that I have now.

...although I suppose it would look pretty leaning against my cubicle divider. *g*

Yay! for degrees! It's strange, seeing your name on paper like that. But in a nice way.

If I could lock myself in the basement untill after Harry Potter I so would. As it stands, I have to either dress in formal wear for the release, or as a character from the book. *whimpers*

Remind me again why I was so happy to work in a bookstore?

You know, I think because the whole degree was online, it didn't feel real. I mean, the work was real and the learning stuff was real and the student loans are depressingly real, but the actual degree somehow comes as a surprise.

And did you survive the release party? I've been reading a bit of the early insanity on Fandom Wank and it sounds as if the splooge is already beginning.

The release party was controlled chaos. We sold 250+ books in a hour, and that's not counting people that were there just to be there.

Costume contest, Snape bingo and the Great Snape debate, the Who Am I game, it was non-stop from nine at night till one in the morning. Clean-up lasted another hour, so I didn't even leave the store untill 2.

And then came Saturday DAY, which was kind of like Saturday night, only a little less OMG!Harry Potter all at once, but spread through-out the day. Today wasn't that bad.

But yeah, I survived. My feet hurt like a bitch at the end of the night, I was exhaused and sore and pissed of (that's another matter), but all in all, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'd make a few changes with the gift of hindsight, but yeah. It was fun.

Woot!! Congrats. ;D It's so much fun to actually have the degree. Did it come in one of those nice covers book fashion, or is it more of a poster?

Thanks! And it came in a nifty little book thing, with a pretty shiny gold seal. Before I even graduated they were trying to sign me up for their Masters program and I was all OMG no because I've definitely had enough for a while.
