Snow!

So I'm lying in bed this morning, getting what we call sleeping in in this house, when my four year old runs in the door, all excited. "Snowball!" she says, tugging on the blankets. "Look, look, snowball!"

I looked out the window and holy crap you guys, the ground is all white and it's still coming down. Now I know for most of you this is not a ( Read more... )

Yes, it was shiny and white and pretty for a while, and it inspired me to delve into making cookies with the girls. Messy, but fun, and also resulting in loads of cookies in the house, always a plus.

Don't you live in some northern clime? For some reason I'm thinking you're in northern Europe somewhere, which of course could be all wrong. But if you are, I figure you'll be seeing way more snow than I will this winter. *g*

I's sort of northern, but it's also right next to the sea, making the weather fairly temperate. I think we last had proper snow and ice over a decade ago. The last time I skated properly was when I was 12...

We sometimes get a little snow, but it's he sort that just looks nice in the air but melts almost rightaway when it touches the earth. Only to freeze to it during the night, making stuff slippery.

People more inland and at higher altitude get proper winters.

I used to feel the same way. Then I moved to Michigan. We always get more snow than anyone wants. I would love to trade it with any of you for rain or even warm weather. Perhaps I could email it to you?

Ah, you and your wealth of snow. I can understand how it would get tiresome after a while, particularly if you have to drive in it. Sure, I'll trade some triple digit summer months with no A/C for your snow. ^_^

Sounds like a fair swap. You can have my February in June and I will take your June in February.
