yummiest chocolate chip oatmeal cookies

I just made the YUMMIEST chocolate chip oatmeal cookies today. Not too much oatmeal. Nice and moist. Not crunchy, but chewy. I have to share the recipe. :)

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, firm packed
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs

wow, i've never heard of that trick before! that is awesome! man, everyone is posting up recipes..This is the 2nd one for sweets that I am going to have to try. I'm going to get so fat after this :P Someone else posted up a recipe that was for "better than sex" chocolate cake!

yeah, the bread thing really works. my co-worker used to bring cookies to work and i'd ask him why he always had a slice of bread with them.

i'm trying to keep my man well fed by baking him yummies, but i'm going to get fat too!

Wow,thanx for the chewy cookies tip.I'd die if i was allergic to wheat. for my version, I'd have to use egg beaters, (margarine will it work?) and dark choco chips =X heheeh

you know, my sister uses olive oil and something else to replace vegetable shortening since it has partially hydrogenated oils which are not good for you (she is a fanatic about that. my 6 year old niece would ask, "does this have partially hydrogenated oil?" when offered a snack and politely refuse it if it does! lol).

and actually, margarine is worse for you than butter is, so I'd use butter if you're concerned about the eggs.
