i'm discovering that the best relationships aren't all fairy tales and flowers. true intimacy is found in the deepening of friendships, and real romance is the sum of all the little connections made in smiles and laughs and everyday conversations. :)

i think it's the little princess in us that wanted so badly to believe marriage would be perfect, lovey dovey, and calm. but it's not - it's having a roommate who annoys you, who YOU annoy, who sees the best and knows the worst and loves you despite wanting to kill you every other week.
what i've come to learn in these new moments of newlywedness is that marriage is a powerful, painful, difficult, and beautiful PARTNERSHIP. there's no magic like this. it's not about poetry and perfection and butterflies, necessarily... it's just so - good.
