"I can't bring myself to say 'RIP Gareth Thomas'," a friend said. So I suggested, as an alternative, "Rebel in Perpetuity".

Like you, I also can´t put up with GT /Blake demise. Of course, he was a legend for me, a hero, because I had no chance to meet him or at least hear his voice "live" like you...
I liked your post about him, it is lovely and he deserves being remembered.
I missed the anniversary totally, of course, without you.
Many thanks!!!

I miss Gareth too and wish I could have seen him one more time before we knew he was gone. Still, I have lovely memories about being on set with him when he invited me to watch Distant Shores being filmed. I also had the wierd situation of sitting in a pub with him and my parents and all three of them complaining they were old. I'm glad garienos met him and Michael Keating too. That was a lovely memory too, sitting in the pub with all of them (and the producer who recorded the show for Radio 4) and Gareth nicking my chips. I only wish he was around to read the book I'm writing, but then he'd probably get all embarrased by it as he always did.

kalypso can I use some of what you said about him to quote in something I am going to say in the final chapter of this book? (that I am hoping to finish this summer!)

Thank you for this post. I've mostly failed to put any words together on the topic. (Oh, and that voice thing? Yep. He did have a lovely voice, and knew how to put weight behind it.)

I'd never heard the story about there having been a speech, and him condensing it into that one "Avon!"... bloody hell! I do hope it's true.

That's lovely. I was only ever at the one con, and attended his panels but didn't meet him...

But you know very well how much I loved and still love his Blake (like you, I started loving Avon better, but that didn't last long), and B/A is still one of my alltime OTPs.
