i love that those are some of the least offensive books i know. apparently harry potter is way more 'dangerous' than, say, mein kamf...not that any books are dangerous really.
p.s. did you know that judy blume actually writes book porn-ish adult fiction? it's not very good. i read one, and 75% of the time i was emitting confused laughter. probably not what she was going for, but worth it nonetheless.
These are banned books? But aren't most of these still sold at bookstores like Borders and Barnes and Noble? Maybe its just me but this isn't making sense to me...Please clarify.
lots of school have banned them from their curriculums and libraries, and some public libraries have also banned them. there are also alot of "public interest groups" like focus on the family that have made statements about how they consider these books unfit reading material and strongly caution people from reading them. obviously, if you can still get it from amazon.com it's not lost and gone forever, but a ban doesn't have to be world-wide for it to have an impact.
